"I am a huge product junkie. You name it, I’m probably collecting it. I’m not a makeup artist, but I sure have a collection like one. I am in love with everything about the Beauty Industry. I live and breathe it and it’s time to take in all the business behind it!"

FIDM Students Share Classroom Projects and Inspiration on Their Blogs

Here's an update on what some FIDM student bloggers are writing about class, careers, life (and shopping!) on their blogs:

Cassidy Saitow Today I realized why I gave up my career to come back to school at FIDM... I get paid to shop in Beverly Hills.  All day.  I went to Barneys, Sacks, and Neiman’s, and then I went up and down Rodeo Dr. popping into Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino, Chanel, and Armani.  I was there because as part of my internship; I’m helping create a business plan for a designer. Keep reading Cassidy's blog.

Adelle Burda This week we finished up the “organza asymmetrical front wrap skirt with volume.”  Whew! That’s a long one!  Organza is not an easy fabric to work with.  One of the things I found bothersome was that the edges fray quickly and you end up having to snip a lot of excess threads sticking out. Keep reading Adelle's blog.

Linda Tang Teaching U.S. Marines how to shop till they drop... Santee Alley Style! The LA fashion district and Santee Alley... My favorite bargain place to shop! Just be prepared to walk, shop and haggle! You must bring your A-game for this kind of shopping experience. I have been a patron of the Alley since my sophomore year at USC. Keep reading Linda's blog.

New FIDM Student Blog by Cassidy Saitow

Cassidy FIDM Los Angeles Student Cassidy Saitow practiced law for three years before deciding to follow a creative path and study Merchandise Product Development.

"This past Saturday I volunteered at a horseback fashion show in Malibu.  It was a combination of socially conscious fashion, horses, and a killer view of the ocean from the venue – what more could a girl want?!  The designer was Prophetik (prophetik.com).  Their brand essence is “wearable philosophy.”  The philosophy is to create fashion that has a social meaning, which then will translate to an aesthetic meaning."

I have always wanted to work in the motion picture industry and happened across FIDM through a family member who was attending. I landed on Visual Communications as a major because of the opportunities in set design for theatre, television, and movies."
