FIDM Costume Exhibit Featured on KTLA

Gayle Anderson visited FIDM's Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and filmed a live segment for KTLA featuring Nick Verreos.

ABC7 has a news story about FIDM's 20th annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition, which opens today and runs through April 28th. More than 100 costumes from 20 films released in 2011, are on display at FIDM's Museum & Galleries.

The exhibition includes selected costumes from all five 2011 Academy Award® Nominees for Costume Design: W/E, Hugo, Jane Eyre, The Artist, and Anonymous. Highlighted in the exhibition is the previous year’s Academy Award® winner for Costume Design, Alice in Wonderland. A gown from Alice in Wonderland will greet visitors as they enter the galleries

Open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10am to 5pm.

The Today Show featured a story about musician Diego Stocco, who makes music from unusual things and places. FIDM Digital Media Students shot Stocco's "Music From a Dry Cleaner" video.

Theatre Costume Design Grad Creates Costumes for Music Video

Theatre Costume Design Graduate Mikael Sharafyan created the stunning costumes for the video "Disasteroid" by the band Friend Slash Lover.

FIDM Students Compete in Bisou Bisou Runway Your Way Contest

Bisou Bisou, jcpenney, and FIDM challenged a group of student designers to create runway style for today’s modern women. Led by Michele Bohbot, creator and designer of Bisou Bisou, the competition was narrowed down to four finalists and they need your help choosing which student will win the $2,000 scholarship!

To cast your vote for FIDM Students Jon Rosario, Jenna Goldberg, Jenny McClain, and Alyse Guercia, just post the name of your favorite designer in the Moderator box at jcpenney's YouTube Channel. Voting continues through June 15. You can also watch the student videos while you are there.

FIDM San Diego Students Compete for Charity

Riviera Magazine has coverage of the seven FIDM Fashion Design Students who participated in a live draping competition to benefit the Princess Project, which provides prom dresses to low-income teens. Jake Avila (pictured, at right) won the judges over with his Black Swan-inspired gown.

Digital Media Grads Create Trailer For "Alice In Wonderland"

 During the Super Bowl you may have seen the trailer for Tim Burton's upcoming Alice In Wonderland film starring Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway. We're pleased to report that Digital Media Graduate Justin Hamilton worked on this exciting project at Create Advertising. Justin works with a fellow FIDM Alumnus Jonathan Gitlin, who is Create's Creative Director of Motion Picture Graphics.
