Friend Slash Lover: Disasteroid from Friend Slash Lover on Vimeo.
Theatre Costume Design Graduate Mikael Sharafyan created the stunning costumes for the video "Disasteroid" by the band Friend Slash Lover. Bisou Bisou, jcpenney, and FIDM challenged a group of student designers to create runway style for today’s modern women. Led by Michele Bohbot, creator and designer of Bisou Bisou, the competition was narrowed down to four finalists and they need your help choosing which student will win the $2,000 scholarship!
To cast your vote for FIDM Students Jon Rosario, Jenna Goldberg, Jenny McClain, and Alyse Guercia, just post the name of your favorite designer in the Moderator box at jcpenney's YouTube Channel. Voting continues through June 15. You can also watch the student videos while you are there.
Riviera Magazine has coverage of the seven FIDM Fashion Design Students who participated in a live draping competition to benefit the Princess Project, which provides prom dresses to low-income teens. Jake Avila (pictured, at right) won the judges over with his Black Swan-inspired gown.

During the Super Bowl you may have seen the trailer for Tim Burton's upcoming Alice In Wonderland film starring Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway. We're pleased to report that Digital Media Graduate Justin Hamilton worked on this exciting project at Create Advertising. Justin works with a fellow FIDM Alumnus Jonathan Gitlin, who is Create's Creative Director of Motion Picture Graphics.
