There's a new Style Scoop interview with Film & TV Costume Design alumna Eva Frederickson, who has an exciting career costume designing for shows such as How I Met Your Mother and America's Best Dance Crew!
One of FIDM alumna Tanya Smith's greeting cards from her Wimzie Prints line was featured on the premiere episode of ABC's Castle. "I was so excited to watch the show so we could glimpse the card," explains Tanya, whose elephant card was hanging on the refrigerator in the NYPD break room on the show. Castle's set decorator Daryn-Reid Goodall bought a few cards while on a summer vacation and later emailed Tanya to see if he could use it on set. "Of course I was delighted!" Tanya says.
On Wednesday night, designer Kevan Hall was featured on America's Next Top Model. The 11 remaining models (who are all under 5'8") participated in their first runway show for the designer at a private event in Malibu.

FIDM alumna Niki Shadrow styled Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin for the premiere of Dancing With the Stars. "She looked chic and glamorous," said Niki. "She really worked it!" Natalie wore fellow FIDM grad Yotam Solomon's "Lila" dress and a Positively Bold By Niki Shadrow necklace.
Designer and FIDM grad Yotam Solomon designed all of the apparel for the models (who are all under 5'7" this time) on the season premiere of America's Next Top Model. The pieces were from his fall 2009 collection (Yotam recently showed some new designs as part of Fashion's Night Out in NYC last week).

The Fashion Design grad is also featured on the L.A. Times' Show Tracker blog, discussing America's Next Top Model and Yotam's feelings on shorter models.
Fashion Design grads Patricia Nevil and Corina Lewinzon, who own bridal boutique L'ezu Atelier in Beverly Hills, were
recently asked to to create a special gown (and provide 15 others from
the current collection) for Fox's new show Glee.
The silk
dupioni gown features "outrageously poofy sleeves and construction
details" and is a far cry from L'ezu's offerings at their Robertson
Boulevard boutique in Beverly Hills.
The second season of Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project debuted this week. The show, which follows the stylist as she dresses Hollywood's A-list and travels the globe to meet with designers, features FIDM alumna Taylor Jacobson, who is Zoe's assistant. "The best thing about working with her are the opportunities we are presented," Taylor says. "FIDM taught me to time manage and think outside the box. There's always something new and exciting and I always have one eye open."
Prior to working with Zoe, Taylor was a wardrobe assistant on Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers Tour and worked in the wardrobe department on films like The Chronicles of Narnia and Havana Nights.
Two FIDM Graduates will go head-to-head on the upcoming Bravo reality competition show, Launch My Line, hosted by DSquared designers Dean and Dan Caten. In 2008, Thai Nguyen and his partner, Helen Nguyen, opened the showroom and storefront, Thai Nguyen Couture, in Westminster, California. Thai's fellow contestant Julie Kwon, who launched her line Rhys Dwfen in 2006, is also a FIDM Grad. Good luck to both Thai and Julie!
FIDM Alumna Janene Zakrajsek and her Downtown L.A. store Pussy & Pooch will be featured in a new program, Insanely Pampered Hollywood Dogs, on E! Entertainment on July 13 at 10pm.
Janene co-owns the successful shop with her husband Rob Gaudio (pictured left). The E! show will visit doggie hotels, spas, and even country clubs. Be sure to set your DVR's!
