Since Alyssa Campanella was crowned Miss USA 2011, FIDM Student and first runner up Katherine Blair has been crowned the new Miss California USA 2011. The 23 year-old and will serve the term until Miss California USA 2012 be crowned.
Katherine is a graduate of the Merchandise Marketing Program at FIDM.
Glee's Matthew Morrison hosted the DASANI Plant Model Fashion Show at The Grove in Los Angeles, featuring 100 percent plant-based couture by Fashion Design Alumnus Yotam Solomon. The designs covered up to 30 percent of each model's body to celebrate DASANI's PlantBottle packaging, which is made of up to 30 percent plant materials.
Designer and FIDM grad Yotam Solomon designed all of the apparel for the models (who are all under 5'7" this time) on the season premiere of America's Next Top Model. The pieces were from his fall 2009 collection (Yotam recently showed some new designs as part of Fashion's Night Out in NYC last week).
