Clive Wilkinson Architects, who designed the Orange County campus, is featured in Contract Magazine as the Interiors Awards 2010: Education Winner for the design of the San Diego campus.
"The internal landscape is student-centered, supporting their experience through openness, transparency, and user-friendly spaces for work and recreation," says Clive Wilkinson. "Vibrant public spaces contrast with quiet, neutral classrooms and study areas."
Full Frontal Fashion recently caught up with 24 costume designer Jim Lapidus to chat about outfitting the cast of the hit Fox show for eight seasons. When asked for a recommendation regarding a specific place to study costume design, Lapidus says:
"We have FIDM [the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, in Los Angeles], which I really like. I actually teach classes about getting into costuming and wardrobe down at FIDM. They have me come in once a year and talk about résumés and continuity and all that. I don’t know when the next time will be, because they book around my schedule. They have me teach when I’m available, when we’re not shooting the show, because they know how busy I am.

ABC's The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love premiered on January 4, 2010, featuring FIDM OC Admissions staff member Tenley Molzahn as one of the 25 contestants. Competing for the love of Texas commercial pilot Jake Pavelka, Tenley won the first kiss and the first impression rose on the first episode.

Future Apparel Manufacturing Management Student Amanda Oquendo will begin her studies in Fall 2010.
"If I can figure out the campus by my first quarter I will be a happy camper. I am just interested in seeing the microcosm of the apparel world and the things you never think about when buying a dress off a sale rack. Right now the only things I know are from books; it will be nice to actually learn it from a class."

Nathan Braun, a high school football player from Brookfield, Wisconsin is not your typical teenage boy. "After football practice, I would carry a sewing machine with me in my gym bag," says Nathan, who was the winner of FIDM's Fashion Designer of Tomorrow award and is now a current student. The Catholic News Service caught up with Nathan and FIDM's Steve Aaron (who called the teenagers sketches "far beyond what someone his age should be capable of doing") to celebrate this success story.

FIDM Graduates recently received the latest issue of Dialogues, which has been redesigned by alumna Bri Emery. The fall issue, published by the FIDM Alumni Association focuses on the way that blogging and street style inspiration has changed the fashion industry. In addition, you'll find stories on two FIDM Grads who run the popular blog Fabulous On A Budget and updates from grads, alumni chapters, and faculty.
Current Merchandise Product Development student Jenna Von Schlegel will graduate this year and enter the Business Management Program in 2010.
"I have gained so much knowledge, not only how the fashion industry is run, but on how this world and its global market works in its entirety. I now feel confident in how to forecast and predict upcoming trends and what kinds of marketing and advertising strategies I must consider in order to not only start my own company but how to successfully maintain it."
