The Giorgio Armani store in Beverly Hills has placed FIDM Students with internships for more than six years in the Entertainment Industry Public Relations Department, which is led by Senior Director and FIDM Advisory Council member Greg Nise. This year, Greg worked with the store manager to create an internship for the boutique side of the business, with an emphasis in retail management and operation support. Merchandise Marketing Student Megan Boyer has been selected for the summer quarter! She'll learn about the processing of goods and how they are distributed into the store. The history of Armani and a review of the different brands will be discussed, followed by product knowledge, merchandising, and working with buyer's reports. Congratulations, Megan!
Covering beauty and health, fashion, shopping, dining, nightlife, and home, FIDM Alumna Amy Rebekah Gan has her hands full with the webzine LA Pretty. She started the blog with her colleague Nicole back in December '08 and the duo has since been invited to local fashion shows, beauty events, store openings, and top spas. "We love Los Angeles, fashion, and beauty so we combined these themes," Amy says. "Our readership has snowballed and we're finding that we get readers from all over the world who want to know hwat's going on in the vast metropolis that is L.A.

Bravo's The Fashion Show recently paired up the last eight contestants in teams of two to create outfits using designer Isaac Mizrahi's inspiration boards. We're happy to report that FIDM Alumna Haven Howell and her teammate Anna won the challenge!
After high school, Haven moved from Tennessee to L.A. to attend FIDM, and also worked as a stylist on the late night talk show Chelsea Lately prior to being in front of the camera.

Project Runway breakout star and FIDM Instructor Nick Verreos stars in a series of videos on MSN Style Studio. The first segment, Catching Up with Nick, fills us in on what the designer's been up to lately, and then Nick Chats with Victoria's Secret Angel Marisa Miller about swimwear trends for summer. Nick will be featured throughout the summer as part of the MSN Studio Style Glam Squad.
Nick has been a favorite instructor at FIDM for over four years, teaching classes in three different departments: Apparel Manufacturing Management, Merchandise Product Development, and Fashion Design.

Advanced Fashion Design Alumna Natalie Hara is celebrating the launch of her L.A.-based Natalia Romano label tomorrow by showcasing the spring/summer 2010 collection at her atelier, according to Earth Times.
“This is my first opportunity to bring beautiful couture clothing to the women’s market, without the couture price tag,” said Hara. “My goal is to have each piece feel timeless and special — to be something that someone would want to wear for years to come.”

FIDM Grad Johnny Corona has the chance to see his stunning bridal creation (at left) on the cover of Brides Magazine! As a finalist in their "Dream Dress" national design competition, Johnny has reached the top 20, but he needs your help to get to the top five.
The top five are voted on by the public and the designers will be flown to New York for a runway show where the winner will be named. The winner's dress will be on the cover of the magazine.

Next month, the Celebrity Caribbean Golf Invitational, which is held in Montego Bay, Jamaica, will get an injection of style. In addition to celebrity guests and honorees, participants for the Fashion Show component include Alexander McQueen, Converse for John Varvatos, Walter Baker and FIDM Graduates House of Howe by Jade Howe (at right), Dena Burton, Michael Herrera's M...The Movement, and Jene Fuchs' Thomas Wylde.
