Legendary Costume Designer Edith Head may have taken home the Oscar for Roman Holiday, but newcomer Audrey Hepburn took home the hats, shoes, dresses, handbags, and jewelry. It was a special gift from the studio to an ingenue who became a global movie star and fashion trendsetter with that romantic comedy in 1953. Hepburn's pixie cut, ballet flats, and pencil thin capris look very similar to today's boyfriend chic. And the movie—entirely shot on location in Rome—is perfect visual prep for a trip to Rome.
