In celebration of Lacoste's 80th birthday, new designers were asked to create "polo shirts of the future." Five students in FIDM's Film & TV Costume Design Program and three FIDM Alumni were asked to participate in the challenge, and their designs were displayed last week at a symposium and panel discussion with the Costume Designers Guild and Oscar-nominated costume designers at Siren Studios in Hollywood, in honor of the CDG's Costume Design Awards the previous evening.
Congratulations to the FIDM Film & TV Costume Design Students and Alumni who participated: Jake Avila, Jessyca Bluwal, David Cruz, Lauren Howard, Gianna Lucca, Rebecca Howard ('09), Dakota Keller ('10), and Jill Sorensen ('12).
The students were each awarded a $250 Lacoste gift certificate, and the designer of the favorite polo shirt was awarded a gift certificate for $2500.
Lacoste, a sponsor of the Costume Design Awards, is considering creating a display of the polo shirt designs at the Lacoste retail location on 5th Avenue in New York.
