Tell us a bit about yourself. Like most students attending FIDM I’m obsessed with fashion. I also love reading, dancing, and playing sports. I’m the type of person that likes to be involved in as much as possible and I always work my hardest to accomplish all my goals.
What are your proudest accomplishments so far? By far my proudest accomplishment thus far has been owning and operating my own clothing store since my junior year of high school. It has taught me so much about the fashion industry. I’ve loved being able to travel around the country to go on buying trips and putting together fun photo shoots.
What made FIDM right for you? The thing that impressed me the most about FIDM is that all of the instructors are currently working in the industry. They have a wealth of knowledge that we wouldn’t be able to learn from any textbook and I think that’s what will help students know what to expect working in the fashion industry.
Describe your entrance project. For my entrance project I created a women’s clothing store with an Art Deco influence. To complete the idea more I included the furniture and textiles that would be found in the store.
What are your career goals? For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be a fashion stylist. A stylist can tell an entire story in one picture, which I think is a very magical thing.
What do you expect to learn at FIDM? I want to learn how to be a better sketcher, how to coordinate large scale photo shoots and events, and how to predict future trends. These skills will help me to accomplish everything I want to in the fashion industry.
