Yotam Solomon Spring/Summer 2013 Inspired By War in Iraq

For spring/summer 2013, FIDM Graduate Yotam Solomon is exploring war in his latest collection. "After the success of my 'Oil Spill' collection, designed to raise awareness and funds to clean the BP Spill, and the 'Drug & DNA' collection, I created a collection inspired by the Iraq war and its relation to our society, personal life, and future as humans," he says. "Living in Hollywood is nothing close to being in a battlefield -- one seldom thinks of war."

Army life and desert living motifs are featured throughout the politicallly charged collection, along with cut-outs, exotic skins, natural fibers, and custom low impact dyes. Solomon, an Israeli native, grew up around conflict and battle and feels it is important to have a better understanding of one another.
