Tell us a bit about yourself. Most of my interests are in fashion and shopping, but when it comes to school I am involved with two different sports: water polo and swimming. I get most of my inspiration from artwork or animals. I am just your typical teenager who likes to hang out with her friends and talk about the latest gossip.
What are your proudest accomplishments so far? One of my proudest accomplishments so far would be getting accepted to FIDM, but other than that would have to be getting my driver license.
What made FIDM right for you? I knew FIDM was right for me because it offers me hands-on learning and has the perfect major for me. It has always been my dream to work in the field of fashion and I just knew FIDM would be the perfect fit for me.
Describe your entrance project. My entrance project was really fun to create. I had to pick five different pictures from a magazine, newspaper, etc. and then from that picture create my own design that could be more wearable for my average customer. I also had to create my average customer and I chose a female in her 20s who was financially stable. I liked this project because I was in control of my own designs and I had lots of creative freedom.
What are your career goals? To become a product developer for a company such as Forever 21. My long term career goal is to one day own my own clothing line.
What do you expect to learn at FIDM? By attending FIDM I expect to learn how to sketch better, as well as learning more of about the merchandising side of fashion. FIDM has so much to offer me and has the tools I need to succeed. I feel like by me going to FIDM I will learn more than I would have ever expected, so I'm ready to expected the unexpected!
