This year's Grammys were perhaps the most talked about ever, but the buzz wasn't all about the music and the nominees, it was about the fashion. There was the usual amount of sparkle and a number of elegant black dresses, all by some of the biggest names in fashion design of course, but there were also doses of, well, kookiness, for lack of a better word (just check out Nicki Minaj's Red Riding Hood-esque look to the left). Katy Perry, for instance, donned a gorgeous beaded Elie Saab gown in the coolest aquamarine hue. She'd dyed her tresses to match the dress, though it was pulled into a rather conservative updo--see, wacky glam. And for his performance, singer Bruno Mars sported a custom gold Dolce & Gabbana tux, proving that refinement and flashiness can live in perfect harmony.
Rodarte is unveiling their Fall 2012 collection tomorrow at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York, and one notable addition to the runway will be Rodarte Footwear. The sisters Mulleavy (Kate and Laura) have collaborated with other labels on shoe collections, including Nicholas Kirkwood, Opening Ceremony, and the incomparable Christian Louboutin, but the six-piece collection photogs will be flashing at tomorrow is their first go at a mono-branded line.
