High school students can experience the conception and design of a garment from beginning to end as…
* The designer sketches a concept for the design.* The design is then draped to see how it will hang and look on a body.
* The design is technically draped and then a pattern is made.
* The garment is constructed and sewn.
This is a unique opportunity to drop in at a design studio with actual industry designers and FIDM Instructors to experience how they do what they do. Students can peek over their shoulders and watch as a concept becomes a reality. There will also be the opportunity for students to meet FIDM Graduate Brian Sullivan, the talent behind Burlapp, one of the top labels at Anthropologie. Students can shop at the FIDM mini Student Store and check out the FIDM Fashion Club table to learn how to start an official FIDM Fashion Club. NO RSVP IS NECESSARY.
