FIDM Grad Launches Jewelry Line at Austin Fashion Week

Jewelry Designer Margot Wolf officially launched her self-titled fall 2010 collection at Austin Fashion Week. "I have always loved expressing my personal style through jewelry and when I was studying Apparel Industry Management at FIDM I would constantly venture into the Fashion District and frequent flea markets, scouring for rings that spoke to me," says Margot, who previously designed handbags for HARVEYS Seatbelt Bags. "One day I was struck with the thought that jewelry might be my calling." 

Soon after, she met a very talented and generous jeweler who let Margot apprentice in his shop. "I was hooked from the very first moment I worked -- the tools, metals and stones, and methods of creation all connect with a place deep in my soul," she says. Margot mainly works in silver and bronze and often incorporpates found objects into her collections. She is working with a few boutiques and will soon be selling her line locally in Austin and on her website.
