Window Display Showcases Work by Product Development Students

SF6thFr_description The adorable displays above feature work by Merchandise Product Development Students who completed the Apparel Process II course on FIDM's San Francisco Campus.  The course teaches students the basic principles of garment construction and fit--necessary skills for success in the product development field.

SF6thFr_Win03_aThe display concept, "La Maison de FIDM," is that of a harried servant waiting while his young ingenue tries on several dresses before making her final selection. The concept was developed and executed by students in the Visual Communications Program.

Heidi Montag to Wear Monique Lhuillier For Upcoming Wedding

Speidi_blog Like so many celebrities before her, The Hills' Heidi Montag (better known as one-half of the love-to-hate-them duo Speidi) will wear Monique Lhuillier for her upcoming nuptials to Spencer Pratt.

Even though the reality television couple claimed to marry in Mexico, this upcoming wedding (which is expected to be filmed for The Hills) in Pasadena, California will be legal.

Gossip sites are reporting that Montag had her final fitting with the FIDM Alumna at her Los Angeles flagship store.

IMPD Program Partners with Tarrant Apparel Group

Tarrant Product Development Grads accepted into FIDM's intensive nine-month International Manufacturing & Product Development Program are going to be working closely with Tarrant Apparel Group. Students will travel the globe to identify trends, develop styles, and source materials for Tarrant, a private label clothing company that owns trendsetting brand American RAG CIE and supplies clothing to major apparel companies including Macy's, J.C. Penney, and Chicos.

Product Development Grad Designs Bridal Gowns

Brideculture FIDM Alumna Natasha Ofili worked as a Product Development Coordinator for BCBG Max Azria before launching her own bridal design company. FIDM Alumna Designs New Simply Green Shopping Bag For JC Penney

Business Wire has a story on JC Penney's new earth-friendly Simply Green shopping bags, which were designed by top fashion students. One of the three bags is from FIDM Graphic Design Alumna Jocelyn Goode, of Oakland, California, who graduated from FIDM in March. Featuring a fun, fresh wildflower design, Jocelyn's colorful bag mixes style, function, and responsibility. “I hope my bag inspires others to find creative ways to re-use what they have,” she said. The Simply Green bags arrive in stores on April 8, 2009!
