Grads Design Inauguration Gown

FIDM Alumnae Stephanie Verrieres and Kimie Sako of Oakland, California label Verrieres & Sako, designed a plum taffeta, hand-ruched gown for Alejandra Campoverdi to wear at the Inaugural Ball last month. Campoverdi is dating President Obama's speechwriter Jon Favreau (not the actor/director) and she met the designers through mutual friends. You can read more about the gown in the S.F. Verrieres & Sako recently lent the same dress to S.F. event planner Jenny Georges and the gown was nominated by the San Francisco Chronicle as "The Best Dressed" at the S.F. Ballet Gala. With 2,166 votes cast on SFGate.com, 36 percent of the thumbs up went to Jenny and Verrieres & Sako! Congrats! -- Victoria
