FIDM Student Designers: You Could be the Crème de la Crème

The Los Angeles boutique Crème is looking for student designers. "We are moving lots of merchandise out and we want to fill our racks with student lines," explains Crème's Rose Sarabia, a student on FIDM's Los Angeles campus. "Like myself, I know there are many students working on their own lines and brands. We want to offer space for students to display and sell their work on consignment." FIDM Grad Launches Interior Design Co.

Interior Designer Lindsey Dann has announced the launch of her new company, Lindsey Dann, LLC. While studying Interior Design at FIDM, Lindsey interned for Kelly Wearstler, one of the top names in the Interior Design industry.

Lindsey recently designed the Hollywood Hills home of actress Eliza Dushku who says "I loved working with Lindsey. She brought insights and creativity to everything she touched." She continues, "Lindsey really understood the importance of turning my house from an old cottage bungalow into a chic transitional and eclectic gem."

Reps from Gap, Old Navy & More Praise FIDM Student Portfolios

Sfoutdoors_2 FIDM Industry Partners, including Gap, Old Navy, Levi Strauss, Dockers, The North Face, Gymboree, and VF Outdoors, attended FIDM San Francisco's third annual Portfolio Day event. On display were over 40 portfolios from FIDM Students in Fashion Design, Product Development, Visual Communications, Graphic Design, and Interior Design.

"Over 130 resumes were distributed to the industry for full-time paid positions and full-time paid internships," said FIDM San Francisco's Director of Career Development, Ray Garcia. "Several companies have already contacted graduates to set-up interviews!" --Kim

FIDM Grad Is Set Decorator for New ABC T.V. Show

Halina Siwolop he Set Decorator for ABC's romantic comedy series Pushing Daisies. The FIDM Grad is also working on the feature film Hanging Out, Hooking Up, Falling In Love, starring Carrie Ann Moss, Janeane Garofalo, and Jenna Elfman. For specialized study in Set Decoration and other related skills, students turn to FIDM's Advanced Study Program in Visual Communications. --Kim

Barneys Window Features Designs by FIDM Students

Designs by FIDM Students are on display in the windows of high-end department store Barneys in San Francisco. The designs will be auctioned off at the April 26 Discarded for Divine event which will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society. "Chairing Styles" On Display at the Pacific Design Center

You won't want to miss the fantastic "Chairing Styles" exhibition featuring work by FIDM Textile Design, Fashion Design, and Interior Design Students. In the annual project, unveiled every year at our Debut Fashion Show and Gala, 30 students from the three disciplines collaborate to create fabric, ten outfits, and ten matching chairs.
