FIDM Alumni Honored for Making a Difference

Not one but two FIDM Graduates were honored for their achievements in business as well as their outstanding work in the community at a recent luncheon sponsored by the L.A. Business Journal.  Vani Kumar and June Durr were among the 200 nominees for the 16th Annual Women Making a Difference Award.

Vani Kumar, an Apparel Manufacturing Management Grad, is owner of the Suit Closet, a boutique specializing in women’s suits.  “I thank FIDM.  The professors are in the industry and they taught me that I have to find a niche.  I wanted something more than another retail store.”

June Durr received her degree in Merchandise Marketing.  “I really give accolades to FIDM for establishing the high level of excellence that makes everybody want to achieve it and reach it and keep it, because it does make a difference!” --Angel
