Chan Luu
Fashion designer and FIDM Alum Chan Luu wowed a packed house on
Wednesday when she debuted her Spring 2007 line at Mercedes Benz
Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios (Los Angeles). The collection, done completely in
neutral shades, was fresh and uncomplicated, featuring lady-like frocks
with full, graceful silhouettes. --Angel Teems
Alan del Rosario
Bold colors and sexy silhouettes featured strongly in Alan del Rosario’s Spring 2007 runway collection for women, while his sleek line of menswear favored black leather vests and vests. A full-length plaid gown and a bright bouquet of full-skirts in magenta, tangerine, sky blue, and green were standouts. --Kim Askew

Jacqueline Lavaun for Thrive
Fern Mallis (7th on Sixth executive director), singer Morganne Picard, and actress Jennifer Morrison (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) were just three of the fashion notables on hand for the Thrive runway show. Jacqueline Lavaun, owner and creative director of the line, delivered bold, edgy separates with a touch of romantic rebellion. --Kim A.
